DiskAnalyzer Pro 3.4

DiskAnalyzer Pro Editor's Review

'DiskAnalyzer Pro' is a hard disk space analysis tool. It displays disk usage for each directory on your hard disk, enabling you to see which folders use the most space. It also gathers information about the files on your computer, allowing you to sort them based on their type, attributes, size, date, or ownership. You can also use the program to search through your files, filtering only the ones that match a certain criteria.

When you start the program, you can select a folder on your computer or on a network drive. Then this folder is analyzed and the gathered data is presented inside the program's user interface. Even though the program displays lots of information, I had the impression that every feature was positioned where it was supposed to be. On the left, DiskAnalyzer displays the folder structure and on the right, it displays the details of the selected folder (subfolders and files).

You can export information about your files and folders into HTML, CSV, XML, or text format. The exported files contain the name, type, size of each file, along with other useful information

Pluses: DiskAnalyzer can compress the contents of a folder using ZIP compression. You can select whether to archive the files by preserving the directory structure or not. You can also choose whether you want to include hidden files and system files in the archive or not. Another feature is the detection of temporary, junk or duplicate files. This is very helpful for keeping a clean operating system.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: DiskAnalyzer pretty much resembles Windows Explorer, but it provides some advanced features and it offers very detailed file info.
